For the 2024-2025 Study and Training year, applications must be submitted online through the official website,
https://admin.khcms.edu.krd/  . After submitting all the required documents online, applicants are also required to visit the Kurdistan
Higher Council for Medical Specialties to submit hard copies of the documents.

Terms and Instructions

 

1-    Official Documents

A-   (No Objection letter) from the currently working place based on Ministry of Health terms and conditions.

B-   Service Year Document

2-     English Proficiency Certificate

Test types and Levels:

a- (IELTS-Academic: 6, TOEFL-PBT:497, TOEFL-IBT:73, Pearson PTE-Academic: 67)

* Above certificates must be done in one of the KRG’s cities (Erbil, Sulaymaniyah and Duhok) or (USA, UK, Canada, New Zealand and Australia) otherwise will be not accepted.

* The validity of the certificates will be three years (based on the date of examination). Certificates provided, of which two years have passed, must have been previously verified.

b- English Language Proficiency Certificate (Advanced Level) from Public Universities language centers.

Note:

·       The requirement for the English Language Proficiency certificate is only for (Track I) applicants and the deadline for submitting is before the Part Two (Final) Written Exam.

·       The holders of medical board certificates who are applying for sub-specialties will be exempt from this requirement.

3-    Unemployed Applicants:
Unemployed applicants in the fields of general medicine, dentistry, and pharmacy will be subject to the same terms and instructions as employed applicants. These applicants are eligible to apply for study and training programs offered by the Kurdistan High Council for Medical Specialties for the academic year 2024-2025, provided they have completed at least three (3) years of public service. However, applicants who have not completed Senior House Officer (SHO) service are not eligible to apply for specialties that require such service. Their study and training will proceed in a parallel study system.

5-    Applicants must obtain an official letter of support from the Ministry of Health's Office/General Directorate of Planning. This letter must be submitted to the Kurdistan High Council for Medical Specialties as part of the application process.

6-    Other conditions

a-    The age of the applicant for the regular education system must not exceed (50 years); otherwise, the applicant can apply in the parallel system.

b-   Applicants must be Iraqi citizens; otherwise, they can apply through the parallel study system.

7-    Required Documents

1-    (No Objection Letter) and Service Summary Documents

2-    Bachelor transcript in English Language (Original Copy)

3-    Graduation certificate for holders of Higher Diploma, Master's, PhD, and Medical Board certificates (if available).

4-    Letter of support from the Ministry of Martyrs and Anfal Affairs for first-degree relatives of martyrs from the battlefield and victims of genocide in the Kurdistan Region, including daughters, sons, and spouses.

5-    English Language Proficiency Certificate based on the requirements from the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research (if available)

 

Note:

1- (*) For Dermatology and Plastic Surgery applicants: those with less than two years of SHO work experience must commit to working five years outside the city after graduating from the Medical Board.

2- Graduates from the College of General Medicine, Dentistry, and Pharmacy can apply for study and training in Health Administration Specialty.

3- Holders of MRCP, MRCS, FRCP, and FRCS certificates will not be considered equivalent to a Board Degree, except for degrees that have been recognized as equivalent by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research of the Kurdistan Region, based on the (CCT).

Note:

·       Only Pediatric Hemato-Oncology, Infectious Disease, and Trauma Surgery will be available in the normal study system; other specialties will be available only in the parallel study system.
