* About CRC

Research is the corner stone in development of any science. Medicine has evolved from a primitive non-scientific discipline to an advanced and well established specialty thorough continuous observation, trials and errors and well-designed researches.

Since its establishment in 2009, KHCMS is seeking innovative and new methods and approaches to solve health issues of Kurdish society. To do this, clinical research is a central component of this goal.

Evidence suggests that patients who receive care in research active hospitals have better health outcomes.

Taking part in research can help patients gain a better understanding of their condition and management. Most of public hospitals in Kurdistan Region of Iraq (KRI) are of teaching type and they are part of KHCMS’ training and teaching programs. Annually, hundreds of KHCMS candidates are being trained and taught classic and latest advanced medical technologies.

To become a pioneer and leading center in health, biomedical and clinical research.

* Mission, CRC will:

1- provide quality trainings and technical expertise for KHCMS and other institutes researchers to conduct structured, ethical, high quality, basic and clinical medical and health researches.

2- cooperate with academic and medical research centers and organizations to draft research priorities and strategy in KRI.  

3- coordinate with MOH and MOHESR to assess and evaluate the effectiveness, efficacy and usefulness of their different programs and projects.

1- Medical Universities and faculties in different KRI cities, for example HMU, Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry, Nursing and Pharmacy in Duhok and Sulaymaniyah.

2- MOHESR and MOH.

3- Non-governmental organizations and agencies interested in conducting researches and studies.

4- International Organizations like WHO, UNICEF, MSF…

5- International and neighboring academic bodies and colleges.

6- Involvement of KHCMS lecturers and trainees in research process.
